Bailey’s in Kensington. It was a great little hotel, right across the street from a tube station which made it very centrally located. The Underground is VERY easy to use.

Precruise Southampton

There are a few Weatherspoons pubs in the city. One is very handy for the Jurys (gets better review as well) another is nearer the port. Looks like the one near Jurys has a roof terrace

Rules restaurant which is the oldest in London and specialises in Game but they do have other British food as well.

Another restaurant that does seafood and some game is Corrigans Mayfair which is just off Grosvenor Sq, just around the corner from the American Embassey. This is run by Richard Corrigan, an Irish chef.

Richard Corrigan also has a seafood restaurant on Swallow St, just off Piccadilly called Bentley’s.

Another seafood restaurant which has been around a while is J Sheekeys. It’s on St Martin’s Court which is between St Martin’s Lane and Charing Cross Road.

Actually for those interesting in “traditional” English fare at a more reasonable price, Porters is a decent bet (great sticky toffee pudding!):

And here’s my favorite Italian restaurant (just down the street from Victoria Station):
